How can I hide my filtration system?

Peter says...

It is usually best to deal with hiding your filtration at the design stage of a pond build. This way you can plan to cover it under some good strong decking or house it within the recesses of a summer house. However you do it will ultimately depend on whether the boxes are installed at or above water level.

If the pond is already up and running the simplest method of hiding the system is to screen it. You could use plants and let it blend in with the garden by putting a small panel, or trellis, in front of the box and letting the plants grow up it. If you wanted a Japanese flourish, plant a small bamboo next to with coloured stems, or an acer. If you can still see the filtration then attach some bamboo or brushwood screening to the trellis. You can buy this, in varying widths, from most garden centres.
