I have a 3kw elecro heater that i would like to use on another extension lead from the other outside socket.
This would mean 3250 watts from a double socket that would be used constant, when needed. Is this safe to use? Is running 3kw through an extension lead safe anyway?
The house has an old style electrical board with fuse wire rather than trip switches. Over xmas im going to change this for a proper consumer unit and run a steel wire armoured cable out to the pond to run everthing in one go (the pond will then have its own line on the new board too). The extension leads are just temporary but will they be ok for a few weeks?
