Re: le koi

IMO i think koi from Israel are stronger than jap fish i have a mix of english, israeli and jap and koi from israel seem to cope with cooler temps better, grow at a better rate and are not really scared of anything, also they were the first to hand feed as they seem much more trusting than all my other fish. I have also had a massive bacterial outbrake in my pond and the isreali koi where the only ones not to have a problem, this might be a fluke but ill never know. I must add israeli koi have not a patch of jap fish as far as quality goes, but there getting better and better each year.
Like i said this is just my view, i might be wrong:D

Re: le koi

doitsu chag thats not what im saying at all, let me in more detail what happened to me.
I was give 6 very nice koi from a forum member and they all looked great, after about 1 week of them being in my pond thay started to get fin rot and ulcers nothing to do with parisites or water quailty as the rest of his fish started doing the same, sadly i lost the battle and also lost alot of my stock at the same time, this is due to not being heated and not being able to treat with antibiotics as he did. all of the fish that died from this where jap or english fish not one of my israeli fish, like i said in last post might of been luck but who knows?
This is why i said what i did in last post, ive had loads of bad luck and the israeli koi just seem to keep going no matter whats thrown at then.:D:P
